Home of the Buffalo Soldier

Another chapter opens for the Dozier Clan in Arizona. We have PCS'd to Fort Huachuca, home of the Buffalo Soldier. The girls and I left Germany quickly, as we didn't want to miss school. But had I known it was going to be so difficult, I would have stayed with Scott those last few weeks!

Since temporary lodging wasn't available at Ft. Huachuca, the girls and I stayed up at Davis-Monthan in Tucson. And for as much as I love that city, it was too far to drive everyday, twice a day. So we found a cute apartment in Sierra Vista just outside the gate. (high fives to me for apartment hunting on my own with three girls in tow!!)

It has been torture living without household goods, but it has been nice having our own place, with a pool, to boot. Minus the mosquitos, the pool has been the saving grace for the girls, having only one suitcase full of toys to keep them busy for the last three months! It will be like Christmas when we finally get our stuff!! May have to screen the toys and purge before the girls unpack... After all, Christmas is right around the corner!

Buffy came to visit just after we moved into the apartment. I think I wore her out shopping at Target and Marshall's! Not sure she was prepared for the retail therapy I needed after all that traveling with the girls... sorry, Buf! But it was great for the girls to see their Aunt! It had been too long between visits!

Scott flew in a few days after she left, and has been on leave ever since. It has been like an extended anniversary trip for us. The girls are in school all day, so Scott and I have all of that time to enjoy our company. We have been working out and catching up on being a couple again. It has been wonderful. So our lives have progressed this way for the last month, since he has been here, but it can't last.... Scott will go back to work on Monday. But then, that Friday, Oct. 5, we move into our house on post. Then our furniture should be delivered hopefully before Halloween, so the girls will have a chance to decorate a bit! The Jeep should be here just before the furniture... whew... you catching all of this??

Basically, with the holidays so near, we should be settled by the first of the year. With Scott's schedule, the girls in school, and our stuff in random transit, it will be hard to keep it together, but that's why they make wine!
